Spending the 4th of July in Mt. Shasta is an experience that many people enjoy as they travel from other states to participate in our small town celebrations.
The highlights of every 4th of July, no matter where you celebrate, is the fireworks and the parade. Mt. Shasta always goes BIG with the festivities, from an hour long parade with floats of all kinds, to an hour long fireworks show over Lake Siskiyou for everyone to enjoy.
Going backwards from the last event to the first, the fireworks were incredible (as always). Each year the Mt. Shasta Community Fireworks outdoes themselves with new displays and colors.
The Parade was a close second to the Fireworks show. Featuring floats from our local Roller Derby, the Summer Concert Series, Classic Cars, a Horse Drawn Carriage, and even a TANK!
I couldn’t properly capture each Parade Float in all of its glory, meaning you will have to attend it in person next 4th of July to see what I’m talking about!
Early 4th of July morning, thousands of people gathered downtown in their Red, White, and Blue gear, ready to go on the Walk/Run sponsored by the Mt. Shasta Mountain Runners! The views alone are unbeatable as are the memories made with friends and family as you walk alongside them.
With live music from local bands, and a wonderful fireworks filled evening, the 4th of July in the small town of Mt. Shasta is all about community and showing off our patriotism for our country.
